Established in 1783, Catterick Bridge Racecourse offers first class National Hunt and flat races throughout the racing calendar and each Catterick Races raceday proves popular with locals and visitors alike. Situated within North Yorkshire, in the hamlet of Catterick Bridge, a mile from the village of Catterick itself, the racecourse is well linked with the national transport network, via the A1, north and south, and is just 5 miles from Scotch Corner and all points west.

Catterick Races, inside rail The track is oval, and left handed with sharp turns. At just over a mile, the shorter distances favour very low draws, particularly on good to firm ground, an advantage which lessens in the longer races over 7 furlongs.

Local trainers tend to do well and there is a good local feel to Catterick races, with a warm welcome extended to all. Excellent for a day out in North Yorkshire, visitors, holidaymakers and families all enjoy some thrilling races in pleasant surrounds.

Racegoers at Catterick Races can enjoy a host of different environments and facilities during raceday. The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure is the main area and contains two tiers and a rooftop terrace, all with excellent panoramic views over the track.

The Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure are also found here and so those with Grandstand and Paddock tickets can get close to all the action before, during and after each race. Betting options are provided by the Totesport Betting shop and Tote Credit Club.

Dining options within the Grandstand and Paddock enclosure are provided by a selection of outlets, including a fine Restaurant, and a self-service cafeteria, situated under the rooftop terrace. Hot and cold snacks are additionally available from Champions Bar and Buffet, and Gods Solution Bar. Drinks are also served within the Parade Ring and betting shops.

The other main option for racegoers is the Course Enclosure which is situated on the centre of the track. Visitors can get up close to the action and make the most of the facilities which include food and drink outlets, Totepool betting and bookmakers, and a children's playground. Certainly the ideal place for a family day out, on Saturday afternoons and during the summer holidays a whole range of further family-centred attractions and activities are organised.

Admission prices for adults are £14.00 for the Grandstand Enclosure and £4.00 for the Course Enclosure, with the option on raceday of upgrading to Grandstand admission for £10.00. Children under the age of 16 are admitted free to any enclosure, when accompanied by an adult. Car parking is free too making a day at Catterick races a fun and affordable option for families.
